A message from Kenyan Organization welcoming Court order of Sheikh Zakzaky release

Court Orders Release of Sheikh Zakzaky:

We congratulate the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (#IMN) in successfully challenging the illegal detention of the globally renowned and respected scholar Sheikh Ibrahim #Zakzaky, his wife and other IMN members. We call upon the #Nigerian government to respect the decision of the country’s courts and expedite their release. The action will go some way towards redeeming the law-abiding and democratic credentials of the Nigerian government and towards healing the Nigerian society whose unity is being threatened by forces of intolerance and sectarianism that target not only the minority #Shia #Muslims but also Nigerian #Christians and other Nigerians who reject the intolerant, divisive and violent teachings and actions of followers of #Wahhabism that are supported by certain foreign and Islamic governments. We all remember very well the killing of Nigerian Christians and torching of their homes and churches by the same dark forces a few years ago, and we follow with horror the murderous war waged by the #Wahhabi terrorists known as #Boko Haram against Nigerians. It is followers of this ideology supported by foreign governments that have been targetting Africa’s largest non-violent mass organisation, the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, led by Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky. The Wahhabis have taken advantage of Nigeria’s democratic laws to infiltrate the country’s centres of power and its security organs to wage their nefarious campaign to grab power through elimination and intimidation of followers of other religions and denominations. At the top of their hit list is the Islamic Movement of Nigeria which has come to represent the true voice of Islam and defends the multi-religious fabric of Nigeria and the unity and harmonius coexistence of all Nigerians, irrespective of their religious diversity.

We call upon the government of President Buhari to uphold and implement the decision of the Court to release Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and his companions and for Nigerians to reject, and stand up in solidarity with all victims of, divisive and hateful ideologies.
